Morrowind is the third installment in the Elder Scrolls series. The game takes place on the island of Vvardenfell, a district in the Dunmeri province of Morrowind. It is smaller in scope than the previous games in the main series, Daggerfall and Arena, yet much more detailed. This epic, open-ended RPG allows for a wide variety of character designs and play styles. The game continues to be sold on store shelves ten years after its initial release, partially due to the widespread mod community which has the potential to supply Morrowind with new content in perpetuity.

The files you will NEED to install your mod are these, the files WITHIN the Icons folder, Meshes folder, and Textures folder. You will open up the Icons folder, copy all files within it, then extract those files to your Morrowind Installation Directory (DATA FILES) into the folder you created called Icons. How do I install mods? I just recently installed Morrowind and I have downloaded a bunch of mods. Open up the Morrowind Launcher and click on Data Files.

I have added mods in the past, and never had this problem before. I have already added some mods to data files and when I open the launcher and go to tell MW to use them, they all appear. In addition, I can double click on them and the expected x shows up. However, if I click ok and then open the data files mod adder, it is as if I never selected anything at all.

None of the mods I just selected are still selected. I can't seem to get MW to remember that I selected a mod. Any suggestions or should I do a completely fresh install?

I just actually have a physical copy of the game, but run it on a windows virtual machine on this crappy iMac, so in my case it was fine to move it. I did have this problem and don't really know what I did but I know how annoying it is to have to uninstall and then reinstall just to re-jigger the launcher, plus adding mods. I hope you get it sorted out - I tried googling around for a little bit but there werent too many other people with this problem, I only got a few hits, and one of them was just reinstall, and the other was 'move files/run as administrator'. You could try asking on the steam forums/community page, too; I do know that reinstalling works, maybe if you have to reinstall, just hold out and add mods one or two at a time to see which ones work? Or create a backup copy of a fresh install of the launcher, and core files.
