By Kaythrin As Leo the Insane wrote, this movie is great for people who are interested in mythology, but I felt I would have enjoyed the movie on a more intimate level if I KNEW more about Irish/Celtic mythology. That said, the movie's story and story-line manages to keep its head above the shuffle of metaphors and symbolism, and the overall theme of physical survival vs. Cultural (or, even spiritual) continuously drives each character toward his purpose and eventual 'end.' While I did find myself mesmerized by the detailed settings throughout the film, I've always felt 2D animation looks crappy, and would not watch many other films of the same style. About half-way through this movie, I didn't notice the 2D characters anymore and simply enjoyed the movie as it was. I'd watch this a few more times, but I'm not sure if I'd buy it.
